March is adopted as MSA Awareness month the world over and this month is seized as a great opportunity to boost awareness for the dreaded disease. This year, Funmi Fashina Foundation, took a step further by joining the Nigerian Society of Neurological Sciences (NSNS), an affiliate to the World Federation of Neurology at her 46th Annual General meeting and scientific conference and thereby using the platform to introduce the Nigerian neurological society to FFFoundation and her campaign against MSA.
Ms. Olukemi Onabanjo (pic above), a member of the board of trustees of the Foundation gave the first presentation of the 2-day event (4th and 5th of March) and highlighted the background, mission, achievements, and way-forward for the Foundation in its MSA crusade.
The conference which brought together neurologists from the 36 states of the country was indeed a great opportunity to boost awareness for MSA, especially to the Nigerian neurological society. Neurologists in the country were encouraged to contact the Foundation where support for individuals suffering from MSA was needed.
The Foundation hopes to continually be in contact with the NSNS to provide adequate professional support and care to individuals suffering from MSA, as well as their caregivers.
