Every year on this date (October 3rd) is held as World MSA Day. It is a special day set aside to look into the insight of Multiple System Atrophy. A day attention is given to bringing about the awareness on the subject.
It is a day to remember and celebrate everyone we have lost to the battle of MSA, most especially the life of an Advocate and Hero “Kerry Simon” who we lost on the 11th of September 2015 to the struggle. We are to light a candle for an hour at exactly 8pm everywhere in the world the candle can be lighted at home alone or with friends and family. As candles are lit around the globe, a virtual 24-hour wave of light will be created as it moves from time zone to time zone. The flames of the candles will unite family and friends all over the world and bring awareness to MSA.
By also walking not less than a mile or cycle or with friends, family and neighbour is also a way of creating awareness of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). The goal is to walk around the earth (40.075 kilometres or 24,901 miles around the earth at the equator).
For World MSA Day this year, aside lightning customary candles on the 3rd of October we will embark on our annual MSA awareness walk. This time we head to Lekki Phase 1 on the island part of Lagos. October 29th is the chosen date for this year awareness walk activity.
Just like Oluwafunmilayo Khafasat Fashina Foundation has always been doing yearly, this year we will also be handing out free FFFoundation T-Shirts and also light refreshments will also be provided.
Please join us this year to celebrate and create another outstanding MSA awareness.
